Resting in presence, able to be with whatever arises
What if the presence you already bring to your coaching is not the ceiling, but the starting point?
Most coaches have learned to be present with their thinker. Far fewer have learned to be present with themselves while it happens.
This course is for the second kind of presence. The stiller, steadier kind. The one that lets you notice every flux and change in a conversation without clinging to a thought, without scrambling to hold it all in your head and without bracing against whatever strong emotion walks through the door.
A presence you can rest in, rather than a presence you need to work to maintain.
Why this and why now
Coaching doesn’t need to be sold anymore. Everyone knows it works. The harder question is what a human coach offers that a cheaper AI coaching tool doesn’t.
Our answer? A coach’s own capacity for presence. Comfort with silence while reading the room. The ability to challenge a client with empathy rather than technique. None of that can be automated, and all of it can be deepened.
How you relate to your own stress, doubt and difficulty shapes how steadily you can hold your clients’ hardest moments. This course works directly on that relationship; not as an add-on to your coaching practice, but as the ground it stands on.
Who this is for
- Trained coaches at any level of experience, from newly qualified to seasoned, looking to deepen your relational impact.
- Coaches who need CCE hours for ICF renewal or their next level of accreditation, and want those hours to genuinely change how you work, not just tick a box.
- All coaches, whether you’re entirely new to meditation, a seasoned practitioner or somewhere in between. Whatever our starting point, this course will help you go deeper.
What you’ll be better able to do
- Let go of your own passing thoughts so you’re fully available for your client’s thinking.
- Hold a client’s (or your) unwanted or difficult emotions with more ease, instead of moving to fix or soothe them away.
- Stay grounded and spacious when a session brings uncertainty or complexity.
- Notice non-verbal cues and subtle relational shifts with more sensitivity.
- Prepare for, stay present during and reflect after sessions in a way that steadily builds your own mindful awareness over time.
Note that this is NOT training in how to offer mindfulness practices to your clients.
Course format
- Nine live online group sessions (26 hours) and three 1:1 calls with Farah.
- ICF-approved for 30 CCE hours (19 Core Competencies + 11 Resource Development).
- You are encouraged to meditate at home daily and there are short written exercises to complete.
This is a three-month experiential group programme which is closer to a deep development container than a standard CPD course.

Your teacher
Farah Govani is an executive coach (ICF PCC) and mindfulness teacher (MA in Teaching Mindfulness). She has been practising mindfulness for twenty years and has been teaching mindfulness since 2015. She has delivered the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme (on which this course is based) over 25 times. Deepening Presence and a Steady Heart brings her two worlds together in a programme she has been developing over the past decade.
What previous mindfulness clients say
“I have learned to be fine with situations as they are. Not everything needs fixing — often the solution is in doing nothing. Give yourself the gift of time and rest. I can really see the value of the fruits of mindfulness practice.”
“I do believe it has made a difference in how I approach and feel in stressful situations.”
“Farah has a radical calmness.”
Fees
£2,000 paid upfront, or £2,200 across instalments.
The same fee applies to everyone. There’s no early-bird pricing or discount codes, because it shouldn’t cost more or less to join based on when you happened to book or because you belong or don’t belong to any particular association.
If you’re drawn to this course but cost is a barrier, get in touch with Farah directly at farah@govanicoaching.com to talk through what might be possible.

FAQs
What does “deepening presence” actually mean in coaching terms?
It’s hard to articulate. One attempt is that it means building the capacity to do all of the below all at once:
- Noticing what’s happening in the thinker: their words, their expressions, shifts, silences, everything.
- Noticing what’s happening in you (thoughts, emotions and physical sensations) without getting attached to any of it. Discerning what is relevant to offer to the thinker.
- Not getting rocked by strong emotions, either theirs or yours.
- Not leaning in to fix, not turning away to flee.
- Being even more comfortable with silence.
Do I need an existing meditation practice to join?
No. The course is designed for coaches at any starting point, from complete beginners to long-time practitioners.
If I have an existing meditation practice, will I get anything from this?
Yes! Your meditation practice will deepen, your presence will deepen and your ability to hold strong emotions will expand.
Will I learn to teach mindfulness to my clients?
No. This course develops your own capacity as a coach. It’s not about bringing mindfulness exercises into your coaching sessions.
How many ICF approved CCE hours does the course carry?
30 hours: 19 Core Competency + 11 Resource Development
How is this different from other CPD options?
Most CPD adds a technique or framework. This works on the coach themselves: their presence, their ability to be with the difficult / unpleasant and attuning to what is unfolding moment by moment in the coaching space.
What’s the time commitment?
Nine live online group sessions (26 hours total) across three months, plus three individual 1:1 calls with Farah, daily meditation (for at least 20 mins) using the provided recordings and short written exercises (5 mins per day).
